The Saarbrücken site of the DFKI is located on the Saarbrücken Campus of the Universität des Saarlandes .

By Air:
Saarbrücken is connected by non-stop flights with Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dresden, Luxemburg, Düsseldorf, Stutgart, and other places.
The taxi ride from the airport Saarbrücken-Ensheim and University/DFKI takes about 15 minutes and costs about 35,- DM.
By Train:
Saarbrücken is connected by hourly INTERCITY and INTERREGIO trains with Frankfurt, Mannheim, and many other places.
There are several daily EUROCITY connections between Saarbrücken and Paris.
Connection between Saarbrücken Mainstation and University/DFKI:
by taxi:
to the University of Saarbrücken takes about 15 minutes, price: 17,- DM
by bus:
from mainstation Saarbrücken take bus route 13, takes about 25 minutes one-way-ticket: 3,- DM (the bus goes twice per hour) please get off the bus at the campus. Buses from the city of Saarbrücken to the campus: from Bahnhofstraße via Dudweilerstraße, Meerwiesertalweg take bus route 13 (the bus goes every thirty minutes) or bus route 19 (the bus goes every fifteen minutes)
By Car:
from Mannheim: Autobahn A6
leave at junction St.Ingbert-West: turn right and follow the white sign in direction University - after 3 km turn to the left and keep on going straight on - after another 2 km turn right in direction Jägerheim, Universität. The way is very well described. After 1 km turn left to the main entrance of the University.
from Paris: Autobahn A4
leave at junction St.Ingbert-West: turn right, continue as from Mannheim.

As a visitor of the DFKI, the gate-keeper will let you pass through without any difficulties. After another 50 m you can see a black sculpture. Stay in the right lane and follow the brown sign Jaegerheim, INM, DFKI.

After 80 m turn left and keep on going straight on for another 200 m to the DFKI, building 43.1. It is the right part of the grey building with blue window frames. Underneath the building, you can find a place to park.
